Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) offers several services to its members. Almost all of the services offered to members are free of charge. Membership is free to Chatham-Kent residents.
How to Become a Member?

According to Tania Sharpe the Public Services Coordinator of Chatham-Kent Public Library, to become a member, visit any CKPL branch location and provide one piece of identification showing your name and current address. Photo ID is preferred.
Children could also become members of CKPL. However, children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult/legal guardian.
As mentioned earlier the library card is free and is available to all residents of Chatham-Kent.

Once you have signed up for your CKPL library card you can enjoy all the resources and services the library provides which include but are not limited to

- magasines and newspapers
- current and classic DVDs
- OverDrive* downloadable audio books
- audio books
- online databases
- computer and Internet access
- free access to WiFi (wireless Internet)
- family programs and events

This day and age, you think that any library should be obsolete? After all, you can look up anything on Google and Wickipedia springs up!
Surprisingly, library’s are getting a boost these days. They have adapted to the need of the community and serve as meeting places, resource centers and other social networking places. Good for Library’s.
